It was a near impossible challenge to create the world's first set of porcelain light rings.

Two master mold makers told me it would be very difficult or impossible. It took 12 months and hundreds of failures, sometimes working as much as one-hundred hours in a week.

In my sculptures I aim to capture a moment of beauty in the natural world, and bring it to life with handmade artistry that imbues it with meaning. To me that's a calling worth pursuing for a lifetime.

Process

It takes over two-hundred steps and three weeks to make a single porcelain ring.

The handmade process means each ring is unique - a one-of-a-kind work of art in and of itself.

The rings are made from a specially formulated porcelain that is among the brightest white in the world. Each ring is formed using a process that took me more than a year to develop, dried for several weeks, and then fired to over 2000° which transforms it to white stone.

The metal components are custom designed specifically for each sculpture and precision machined to a tolerance of 5-thousandth of an inch. Each part is hand-polished and given the patina of your choice using centuries old techniques.

Each ring is carefully inlaid with more than a thousand dimmable LED lights that are among the highest quality in the industry. Near perfect color accuracy ensures your space is clear, bright, and appears as it would in natural light. You may specify any color temperature you like.
