Porcelain & LED light sculptures | Exceptional craftsmanship | Unlike anything else
Samsara
The sculpture that was six years in vision and more than 12 months in the making.

VIDEO BY ANDREW REILAND
Inspired by the arching ribs of a whale skeleton bleached in the sun. There's a tension between the grace and fragility of the rings and the strength and rigidity of the metal spine - a moment of perfect balance frozen in time.
The sculpture can cast gentle candlelight on a dining table or brighten an entire room. Size, metal type, and finish can be customized to your specifications.

Process
It takes over 300 steps and several weeks to make a single porcelain ring.
The handmade process means each ring is unique - a one-of-a-kind work of art in and of itself.

The rings are made from a specially formulated porcelain that is among the brightest white in the world. Each ring is finished by hand and glazed satin white to give a delicate glass sheen. Custom colors are available by request.
The spine and vertebrae are custom designed and precision machined to a tolerance of 5 thousandth of an inch. The parts are hand finished, polished, and given a patina of your choice. See available finishes.
Each ring is carefully inlaid with warm, dimmable LED lights that are among the highest quality in the industry. The LEDS have near perfect color accuracy which ensures your space is clear, bright, and appears as it would in natural light.

Story
It was a near impossible challenge to create the world's first set of porcelain light rings.

VIDEO BY ANDREW REILAND
Two master mold makers told me it would be very difficult or impossible. It took 12 months and hundreds of failures, sometimes working as much as one-hundred hours in a week.
In my sculptures I aim to capture a moment of beauty in the natural world, and bring it to life with handmade artistry that imbues it with meaning. To me that's a calling worth pursuing for a lifetime.
