Porcelain & LED light sculptures | Exceptional craftsmanship | Unlike anything else

Inspired by the arching ribs of a whale skeleton bleached in the sun. There's a tension between the grace and fragility of the rings and the strength and rigidity of the metal spine - a moment of perfect balance frozen in time.
The sculpture can cast gentle candlelight on a dining table or brighten an entire room. Size, metal type, and finish can be customized to your specifications. Patents pending.

It takes over 300 steps and several weeks to make a single porcelain ring.
The handmade process means each ring is unique - a one-of-a-kind work of art in and of itself.
The rings are made from a specially formulated porcelain that is among the brightest white in the world. Each ring is finished by hand and glazed satin white to give a delicate glass sheen.
The spine and vertebrae are custom designed and precision machined to a tolerance of 5 thousandth of an inch. The parts are hand finished, polished, and given a patina that adds depth and richness of color.
Each ring is carefully inlaid with warm, dimmable LEDs that are the highest quality available. The LEDS have near perfect color accuracy, ensuring your space is clear, bright, and appears as it would in natural light.
It was a near impossible challenge to create the world's first set of porcelain light rings.

Two master mold makers told me it would be very difficult or impossible. It took 12 months and hundreds of failures, sometimes working as much as one-hundred hours in a week.
I always knew I was passionate about sculpture, but first pursued a career in technology & engineering, including managing products for Google, before I decided to make sculpture my life's purpose.
As both a sculptor and mechanical engineer, I'm prepared to take on your custom project and deliver with exacting precision, no matter the scale or complexity.
The studio is located in sunny Boulder, Colorado.
